The more sats you spend with us, the more sats you get back! LFG!

To Join the Club

  1. Select a style (ground or whole bean)
  2. Choose your type of beans
  3. Select the frequency of shipping
  4. Select the number of bags to ship each time and click Add to Cart
  5. Enter your shipping details, including your nostr npub or other unique identifier to keep track of your sats balance

  • If sats back is selected, your cumulative spend will reset to zero
  • If not selected, your total spend will continue to grow

Club 69

  • Total spend must be greater than 690k sats
  • You can then receive 6.90% back off your total spend in sats for our coffee
  • Shipping is not included in your cumulative spend calculation
  • If sats back is selected, your cumulative spend will reset to zero
  • If not selected, your total spend will continue to grow

Tier 21M

  • Total spend must be greater than 21 mBTC (2.1M sats)
  • You receive a WHOPPING 21% back off your total spend in sats for our coffee
  • You will receive some type of swag, probably a branded t-shirt and/or coffee mug
  • Shipping is not included in your cumulative spend calculation
  • Once sats back are redeemed, your cumulative balance will reset to zero

For the most-freshly roasted beans, choose monthly. To save on shipping, order in bulk every three months. If you need to change the frequency or type of coffee, simply reply to the invoice and we will update and re-invoice. More details on how the program works are below.

Loyalty Club Example

Meet Alice

Alice loves our coffee, so she signs up for the loyalty club by selecting “whole beans” for “El Salvador San Pacho” variety to be sent “every month”. She drinks a lot of coffee while working with Bob, so she drinks enough coffee to warrant two bags every month, and selects “2″ as the quantity. The loyalty club page would look like this, before adding to the cart:

When she’s done shopping, she proceeds to the checkout and enters her shipping/contact information along with a unique identifier. This unique ID can be:

  • Her nostr npub
  • Her email or burner email (just make sure you can access)
  • Her cell phone or burner phone (again, make sure you can access)
  • Her Telegram username
  • Other means of unique contact (we’ll try to accommodate your preferences)

This unique ID entry is how we keep track of the coffee payments and send out the invoices and cumulative spend. If Alice sends her npub, we will invoice her via nostr or if she enters her email, we’ll email the invoice. Once the payment is received, we’ll ship out the coffee for Alice to enjoy.

One Month Later…

We’ll create a new invoice with a 48 hour expiration and send to Alice via nostr, email, text message, and/or telegram. If she is ready for her coffee, she pays the invoice and we ship coffee to enjoy. In the message, we will let her know the accrued amount of sats for the coffee club, and her current club level.

If she’s not ready to order more coffee, she either ignores the invoice or (ideally) contacts us to give a new frequency and/or updated schedule. She can adjust the type of coffee as well. She also can choose to redeem her sats, if she’s over one of the tiers. Let’s say Alice keeps buying coffee for a few months.

Several Months Later…

She spends 754,544 sats with us, while enjoying our beans. She receives her invoice and balance from us, and realizes she could take a sats back payout of 52,064 sats (6.9% of 754,544). This amount can either be paid directly to a wallet or can be applied to her order if she chooses to claim her sats. If she chooses this option, her cumulative spend in sats with us would reset from 754,544 to zero. Alternatively, she could pass on the sats back option, and attempt to achieve the exclusive 21M 4 Life level!

A Year and a Half Later…

Alice finally spends 2,245,932 sats with us, again while enjoying our beans! She chooses to exercise her sats back option. In this scenario, she would receive 471,646 sats from us, and her cumulative sats would reset from 2.2M to zero, so she could begin the process again.

Hopefully this gives you an idea on how the program can work. Please contact us if you have questions, and we look forward to you joining the club!

Great Coffee is All About the Right Water

Bad water destroys great coffee and the strong majority of coffee is water! You’re buying great coffee from us, why not use the best water you can? We are now distributing Third Wave Water mineral supplements as an add-on to your coffee orders.

Third Wave Water uses the proper amounts of magnesium sulfate, calcium citrate, and sodium chloride salts to produce water that is ideal for brewing coffee and tea. The science is complicated, but their packets provide an easy way to get it right and produce the best water to brew the best coffee.

The Specialty Coffee Association has determined the following standards for water used to brew specialty coffees. For a superior quality extraction of coffee solids, the brewing water should have these characteristics:

Characteristic Target Acceptable Range
Odor1 Clean/Fresh, Odor free
Color2 Clear color
Total Chlorine O mg/L
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)3 150 mg/L 75 – 250 mg/L
Calcium Hardness 4 grains or 68 mg/L 1-5 grains or 17 mg/L – 85 mg/L
Total Alkalinity 40 mg/L At or near 40 mg/L
pH 7.0 6.5 – 7.5
Sodium 10 mg/L At or near 10 mg/L

1 Odor is based on sensory olfactory determination.
2 Color is based on sensory visual determination.
3 TDS measured based on 4-4-2 conversion.

The Third Wave Water Mineral Supplements are perfect for brewing our coffees using most brew methods.

  • Light & Medium Roast Coffee
  • Protects Coffee Makers from Limescale
  • SCA Water Profile
  • Highlights Brighter Flavors
  • 12oz bag of beans uses ~1.6 gallons of water
  • Suggest 1-2 packets for each 12oz bag ordered
  • Note: product is sold as individual packets

Third Wave Water packets are super easy to use.

You’ll need to buy a gallon of distilled water from the grocery store. Filtered water doesn’t quite cut it because filters still leave in minerals and you want to start with pure water. Add a single packet to the gallon container, put the cap back on and mix. That’s it! You are now ready to brew your best coffee!

The Locations & Harvest

Satoshi’s Mocha Java Blend Coffee uses top grade beans from Bali, Indonesia and Guji, Ethiopia.

We use Organic Bali Blue Moon as the Java portion of the blend. The island of Bali received a rejuvenation of coffee production from the Indonesian government in the 1970s & 1980s. As a result, many farmers throughout the entire island participate in coffee agriculture.

Map of Bali Indonesia

These trees grow between 1100 and 1500 meters above sea level. The farmers harvested the cherries between May and July of 2021, and the beans shipped to the US in late fall 2021. The varietal is Bourbon & Typica. The milling process is wet-hulled and the beans dry on patios.

For the other portion of our blend, we use Ethiopian Natural Guji. Farmers harvested these coffee cherries at elevations between 1100-2200 MASL. Natural processing removes the fruit pulp from the ripe cherries. With a natural process, the cherries will fully dry within raised beds with the skin on, which means both the fruit pulp and sugars provide the beans with flavors as part of their development.

Guji Ethiopia Map

The harvest occurred between November-December of 2021 and the coffee shipped in the summer of 2022. Our variety is Ethiopian heirloom, which basically is used as a catch-all name for wild Ethiopian coffee. Cross-cultivation naturally happens here, therefore, each town and location has a very different and unique profile.

Satoshi’s Mocha Java Blend Coffee

Mocha Java is a locally roasted, deliciously smooth coffee that is full-bodied and rich.  A complimentary balance between an earthy coffee and one that is rich and fruity. You will taste notes of strawberry, dark chocolate, cedar, molasses, & vanilla. We think you will enjoy Satoshi’s blend!

Guji, Ethiopia

In general, most coffee trees in the region grow wild near the city of Yirga Ch’efe, near Lake Abaya, in the Sidamo district south of Addis Ababba, the capital city.

Our coffee specifically grows in Guji, one of the zones of the Oromia Region known for producing some amazing natural coffees. Typically these coffees possess some nice fruit-forward characteristics with a medium body.

In the past, coffees from Guji fell within the category of general Sidamo. However, due to the high quality and unique profile of the coffee, the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange now separates Guji coffee from the more general Sidamos. They identify Guji as a higher-quality and more-unique coffee due to the terroir.

Guji Ethiopia Map

Typically Ethiopian coffee grows in wild trees amidst the tropical rain forests at elevations from 1500 to 1800 meters above sea level (MASL). Negligible use of chemicals and fertilizers indicates Ethiopian coffee as some of the most natural coffee available.

The consumption of coffee can be traced back as far as the 9th century in these highlands of Ethiopia. Legend states that Ethiopian shepherds first noticed that goats became more animated and danced after eating wild coffee berries. Today, wild and native Arabica coffee trees are still the primary source for this historic and exotic coffee.

The Farm & Harvest

Farmers harvested our Ethiopian Natural Guji coffee cherries at elevations between 1100-2200 MASL. Natural processing removes the fruit pulp from the ripe cherries. With a natural process, the cherries will fully dry within raised beds with the skin on, which means both the fruit pulp and sugars provide the beans with flavors as part of their development.

Cross-cultivation naturally happens here, therefore, each town and location has a very different and unique profile.

Our Ethiopian Natural Guji Coffee

With the most recent harvest, you should taste notes of strawberry, cedar, & dark chocolate with a medium body. We selected this coffee due to its certified fair trade status and unique characteristics as a Guji coffee.

Ahuachapán, El Salvador

Our top tier coffee comes from El Salvador…the first nation to declare bitcoin legal tender in 2021. The beans come from Finca Las Veraneras in Ahuachapán, the westernmost city and an an agricultural center for coffee.

El Salvador Map

The elevation is 950 meters above sea level and the surrounding mountains experience a significant amount of geothermal activity. There is a geothermal electricity plant in the town as well as a hydroelectric station. Hopefully they are using some of that energy to mine bitcoin as well!

The Farm/La Finca

The farm is part of the Apaneca Ilamatepec Denomination Origin coffee mountain range of El Salvador. Las Veraneras is a 20 hectare farm worked by Mr. Jorge Cruz Reyes who enjoys traditional planting and harvesting methods for the coffee varietals grown at the farm.

Finca Las Veraneras is the cradle of the BioKrop Project, an initiative of a consortium of various single-origin specialty microlot coffee farms across the six mountain regions of El Salvador.

The project’s focus is to work with nature and improve the soil using microorganisms, compost and natural fertilizers with ancestral biodynamic practices. These agro-ecological farming practices yield healthy sustainable harvests in the production of coffee, cocoa, and honey. Harvest at Las Veraneras is critical, as the most ripe coffee fruit is picked daily and the farm is well known for innovative fermentation and drying practices to create unique profiles.

Mr. Cruz and his family have been instrumental in pushing the quality of the coffee processing allowing their plants to bring forth their best qualities in order to be able to harvest great results towards a juicy, complex, and downright delicious coffees.

The Coffee

This is an absolutely delicious coffee and very unique in its properties. The coffee tastes so much like the pulp of coffee fruit or “cherry” itself. It is sweet, delicate, and floral in its flavor profile. You may also taste spices, dry fruits, and cane sugar. The coffee is delicious when used for espresso as well as for regular coffee. We guarantee you will love it!

The black honey processing is the most labor-intensive, but you will get a sweetness to the bean as a result. If you’re not familiar with honey processing, you can read more about it here.
